Bus Transport
Opatija is well connected by bus to Rijeka and surrounding towns. The main operator is Autotrans.
Key Routes
- Line 32: Rijeka → Opatija — The main route connecting Opatija to Rijeka. Runs every 20 minutes during peak hours (7-9am, 4-7pm) and every 40 minutes off-peak. Journey time: about 30 minutes.
- Line 33: Rijeka → Lovran — Continues past Opatija to Lovran and Medveja. Same frequency as Line 32. Useful for reaching beaches and villages south of Opatija.

Cycling
Opatija isn't Amsterdam, but there are decent cycling options:

- Mountain biking trails on Mount Učka — rent bikes in Opatija center
- E-bike rentals available from several shops on Maršala Tita
